Your Summer Skincare Routine, Simplified

Every summer, the same thing happens. You read a round-up of "summer skincare essentials" and come away feeling like you need seventeen new products and a degree in cosmetic chemistry to survive until September.

You don't. Summer is a good time to strip things back. Heat and humidity change what your skin needs, and some of what worked through winter is quietly working against you now.

What you need in your makeup bag

SPF, every morning, on everything that sees daylight. iS Clinical's Extreme Protect SPF 40 is one of those rare formulas that actively improves your skin while protecting it, combining antioxidants and UV defence in one step. Don't forget to reapply during the day, two hours outside and you need to reapply. That's the rule.

A vitamin C serum. Summer is when it earns its place most. It works alongside your SPF to neutralise free radical damage from UV exposure and helps keep pigmentation from building up over time. The Super Serum Advance+ layers cleanly under SPF. Apply it first thing and give it a minute before anything goes on top.

Thorough cleansing in the evening. Sweat, SPF residue, and pollution all build up differently in summer. The Cleansing Complex handles it without stripping. Worn heavy SPF or makeup? Start with the Warming Honey Cleanser first, then follow with the Cleansing Complex.

What you can dial back

Your winter moisturiser. If it's sitting heavily or contributing to midday greasiness, try the Reparative Moisture Emulsion. Lighter weight, still proper hydration. For oilier skin, the Hydra-Cool Serum is better. Gel texture, hyaluronic acid, absorbs and disappears.

Daily actives. Keep the Retinol+ Emulsion 0.3, but evening only. Two or three nights a week, not every night. On the nights you skip it, the Pro-Heal Serum Advance+ is a good swap. Antioxidant support and barrier recovery, without the sensitivity risk.

Your Summer Routine

Morning: Super Serum Advance+, Reparative Moisture Emulsion or Hydra-Cool Serum, Extreme Protect SPF 40.

Evening: Cleansing Complex (Warming Honey Cleanser first if needed), Retinol+ Emulsion 0.3 a few nights a week or Pro-Heal Serum Advance+ on the others, Reparative Moisture Emulsion.

Most people overcomplicate summer skincare but the reality is that a shorter, better-chosen routine outperforms a longer one almost every time. Pick the right products, use them consistently, and your skin will be in better shape by September than it was in June.
