PEELS + EXFOLIATION
The At-Home Peel, Done Properly
Resurfacing at home is a scheduling problem, not a bravery contest. A two-step peel system, a gentle polish and an enzyme masque, each with its place in the week.
RESURFACE, SENSIBLY
Chemical, physical or enzymatic?
Exfoliation comes in three languages. Chemical exfoliation uses acids to loosen dull surface cells; physical exfoliation polishes them away with fine particles; enzymatic exfoliation lets botanical enzymes do the dissolving. Home routines go wrong by shouting in all three at once. The iS Clinical approach is structured instead. The Active Peel System is the true at-home peel: two precisely formulated towelette steps, acids first, then a neutralising, soothing finish, designed for every other day. Cleansing Complex Polish is the twice-a-week physical option, with eco-friendly cellulose and jojoba microparticles. Tri-Active Exfoliating Masque speaks all three languages at a treatment-masque cadence, combining enzymes, salicylic acid and microparticles. Pick one rhythm, keep it, and let the smoothness compound.
Three ways to resurface at home
A peel, a polish and a masque. Different textures, one shared discipline: control.
Best for The structured at-home peel
The closest thing to a clinic peel in a box: step one activates controlled exfoliation with botanical acids, step two neutralises and rejuvenates with Extremozymes and Copper Tripeptide-1. Every other day, fifteen sets per box.
Best for Gentle physical polishing
The tactile option: cellulose and jojoba microparticles smooth instantly while botanical extracts exfoliate biochemically. Choose it if you like feeling the work happen, two to three times a week.
Best for The weekly treatment masque
Enzymes, salicylic acid and microparticles in a single masque, with Brazilian blood orange for antioxidant support. Choose it when you want resurfacing as a ritual rather than a routine.
WHY TWO STEPS
Controlled is the whole point
A professional peel is not just acid; it is acid with an exit plan. The Active Peel System brings that structure home. Step one applies powerfully active botanical acids and announces itself with a cool tingling sensation as controlled exfoliation begins. Step two is the exit plan: it neutralises step one while drenching skin in hydration, Extremozymes and Copper Tripeptide-1. Resurfacing with a built-in finish line is what separates a treatment from a dare.
THE SCHEDULE
Alternate, never accumulate
Peel evenings: the Active Peel System, on clean, dry skin, every other day.
Between peels: nothing abrasive. If you use the Polish or the Masque, give them their own evenings rather than stacking them on peel nights.
Every morning: SPF without fail; freshly resurfaced skin is precisely the skin to protect. If your skin is compromised or flaring, pause the schedule until it settles.
At-home peel FAQs
Is an at-home chemical peel safe?
Used as directed, yes: the Active Peel System is designed for home use, with a neutralising, soothing second step built into every treatment. Follow the schedule, patch test first, and do not peel skin that is broken, flaring or freshly treated in clinic.
How often can I use the Active Peel System?
It is designed for every-other-day use, and each box contains fifteen treatment sets. Consistency at that cadence beats occasional heroics.
What should a peel feel like?
A cool tingling sensation on application is the formula activating, and it is expected. Sharp, persistent stinging is not; rinse, skip a session and reassess.
Peel, polish or masque: which should I buy first?
For visible resurfacing on a schedule, the Peel System. If you prefer a tactile scrub you control, the Polish. If exfoliation is an occasional treat rather than a programme, the Masque.
Can I use retinol in the same routine?
Keep them on separate evenings. Peel nights are peel nights; retinol gets its own. Alternating gives each active room to work without compounding irritation.
What aftercare does peeled skin want?
Hydration and sun protection: a soothing moisturiser that evening and SPF every morning. SHEALD Recovery Balm, a post-peel staple in our range, is the right rescue if skin ever feels overdone.
